I am not advocating for sainthood in this writing. I am advocating for a return to focusing on and believing in a basic Good first, before anything else. And if any reader is so inclined, they can call it God.

There is no question that sometimes, faith is confusing.

We can be very hard on people who walk around with “rose colored glasses on.” We frown upon or question people with a “pollyanna-ish” perspective, but… why? Yes, life is hard. But we sure as BLEEP make it harder by being critical of those who seem to like their lives or look for the best in everything. 

I read something recently that said, “the antidote to anxiety is not calm, it’s trust.” I have to say that I disagree. The antidote to anxiety isn’t calm or trust, it’s - you guessed it - faith. 

“Fake it till you make it” is a common expression in recovery programs, which seems to have crossed over into the cultural lexicon. I have often tried to put it to good use in my own life, while also wondering what in the BLEEP it really means.

The more we try to discern and choose Good (or God) for ourselves and each other, the more God (or Good) will show up in our lives.

All it takes, is a little faith. 

I looked up the definition of the word patient, and was a little shocked, annoyed, and amused that the root of the word comes from Latin word pati, which basically means to suffer.

Hilarious. For some reason, this is hilarious. 

I share this story in case you, Dear Reader, are mired in a belief system that doesn’t serve you very well. If you have tried one and it’s not working, perhaps it’s time to try another.

Lately, I have been paying attention to the outcomes of prayers in my life and giving more credit where it is due. I can actually see God (or Good) working in my life, so it only makes sense to send a little THANK YOU out into the Universe.

There may be some cynics out there that are thinking well, this sounds a little too easy or isn’t that convenient? That is exactly the point. This entire blog is about the path of least resistance to connect people to some semblance of faith. Starting simple, starting easy, starting generously is the name of the game. Don’t ask me how it works. It just does.

My only ask is: Don’t knock it ’til you try it. 

Now, I genuinely feel like I can weather any storm, that I am due all good things in the human experience, and that I am worthy of and can experience love in all the ways it is offered.

I’m not sure what to make of it other than to say God is Good.
