On Purity in Self-Help & Therapy

It doesn’t matter if God really is answering our prayers or our powerful, potent brains are just reframing certain problems with more positive solutions. What matters is we start building self-fulfilling prophecies looking up, rather than down.

Ask, and Ye Shall Receive

There’s something really magical about prayer. Maybe I’m just so special and so enlightened that I actually do just get whatever I want when I pray (HA!). What’s more likely is that there is something about prayer that tunes us into the abundance of what we already have.

It’s okay to have enough faith in Good (or God) that we reach a place where others are unsettled by our contentment. They may be so unsettled that they ask us about it, and we may even have the strength to be real about choosing to have faith in a faithless world.

Sometimes, I wonder if God is up in Heaven (or whatever plane Good is operating from) and looking around for a brick to throw at me. That’s often what it takes for me to put two and two together.

God (or Good) doesn’t clean every room in a spiritual house all at once. Some areas of my life have gotten a deep clean and others are messier than ever. All I can do is help move furniture around and be useful while Good (or God) does the dirty work.

It’s All About the Wait

Some people seek signs or guidance, and that’s all well and good, but I will say that if urgent enough, God will hit us over the head with a hammer to make certain things very clear.

Mistakes Will Be Made

Living life with a little faith (or a lot, for that matter) is not all sunshine and roses. We’re all still capable of being complete BLEEP-ups.

When the Going Gets Good

I have been willing to have a little faith in dreaming dreams with God (or Good) as my benefactor, and therefore it only seems natural to tip my cap to the God (or Good) of my choosing for all our hard work. Penance not required.

On Rituals

There can and should be room in our world for both the formalized, historic rituals of faith and for me to BLEEPING wing it at home. God (or Good) is that big, that all encompassing. If you’re put off from faith by the complexities of religion as I have been, it’s okay to start small and start from home.

The Universe be like: Take it or leave it, sweethearts.

And to a certain extent, life seems to be a matter of how well we take it and how well we leave it, ideally while being sweethearts to ourselves and each other.

On Grief & God

Losing innocents to rage, fear, illness, or accident is heartbreaking for those they leave behind. I think the most healing path forward is to embrace Good (or God) to foster growth and change in our lives in whatever shape that takes, either for ourselves or for a cause we believe in.

Better that than sitting in the dark.

God Help Me

Some people believe you should be able to say a prayer once, and if you’re faithful enough, put the issue down and walk away from it knowing God (or Good) will address it.

Sounds real nice, but I am definitely not there yet.

I’m committed to doing less and letting God do more. It will be an interesting exercise, no question, and I look forward to providing a full report as it all unfolds.

We Are Allowed to Ask for What We Want

Faith is self-reinforcing. A little bit goes a long way. Just a tiny bit with an open mind and a crazy heart willing to believe and we start seeing Good (or God) everywhere.

On Boundaries & Belief

The crux of the issue when it comes to setting boundaries and why people without faith are often SO bad at this is because we don’t actually know who we are, what we want, what we need, and why we deserve it.
